Something I recorded in the 90's on a vhs tape. So please don't complain about resolution, no surround sound etc. This was the best quality I managed to get when I ripped it.. It's probably the best Iggy/Stooges documentary I've seen-so far. Even Scott Ashton gets to say a few words. R.I.P Ron Ashton ----> In my opinion, one of the most underated guitar players in history. Why, you might ask..Can he play like Steve Vai, or the hobbit (don't know his name# in Dream Theater for instance? Nope, and I don't think he ever gave a flying fuck about techniques,or melodic guitar solo's either. Funhouse sounds today #almost 40 years after it was released)still "fresh",- almost "modern"#I'm talking about the production#. When I was young and first heard:"Down on the street", "Loose", "1970", Tv Eye"- It totally blew my mind, and even today I get goosebumps when I play the cd. It's so brilliant in all it's simplicity,but yet impossible to duplicate. Iggy often gets all the credits for "creating punk" alone. Let's not forget that Ron #and later James Williamson#created most of the riffs-which leads me back to why I think Ron Ashton is truly a "Guitar hero extraordinaire". He came up with the riff to "No fun" ,1970, Tv Eye, I got a right, 1969, Real cool time, Loose etc, etc. In my book, that's way more important than playing scales up and down the guitar neck as fast as possible. I rest my case.. ;-) Enjoy! I'll be uploading more Iggy/Stooges shows later btw.
Wov!! That's pretty cool!! From what I've heard,- they gave their best performances around that time. Did you ever get a chance to see them when Bill Cheatham and Jimmy Recca was in the band? Around late 70, and first half of 71 i think it was.
It's a period people tend to forget. Even though Elektra dropped them at that time, most of the members struggled with addictions of various kind-they still managed to write some great songs. The only song (as far as I know..) from this period that ever got recorded, is "I got a right".
"Fresh Rag", "Wet my bed", "You don't want my name", "See me dancing" and an early version of "Search and destroy" was some of the songs they played for the bosses at Elektra. Which responded "We see no potential in these songs, and we won't renew your contract with Elektra". Sic... Could have been a great album!

Thanks for this! "I Got a Right" must be one of the greatest Stooges songs, right up there with the obvious classics. Shame that there doesn't seem to be a decent sounding recording of it. The studio version (on various sources) just doesn't do justice, it almost sounds like it is mono :)

Yeah, I agree. The sound on that one isn't that great. Think it was (together with "Scene of the crime", "Gimme some skin" and "I'm sick of you") just ment as a "demo". They were all recorded before "Raw Power, but for some reason they didn't make it on the album.
Btw, "I got a right" could very well be the first "hard core song" recorded, don't you think..?

I wrote down a tutorial on how to upload on Bitlord:
Hit 'Maker'. This brings up the make torrent GUI.
If there is only one file, point to that file.If there is more than one file, click 'Directory (Multi-files)' and point to that directory.
Type in the tracker address -in your case: http://tracker.thepiratebay.ee:80/announce udp://tracker.thepiratebay.ee:80/announce.
Select an output directory and give a name for the .torrent file. Click OK and the file should be created in 5-10 seconds.This is the same file you will upload to pirate bay later. In other words, it's the small torrent file and not the actual movie/mp3 file you upload.
Hit OK. You may also drop a file or directory into BitLord to bring up the dialogue mentioned above.
Then it's time to Upload your .torrent file to pirate bay.Click on "upload torrent". On the top you'll notice the http and udp adresses I wrote above.
Click "browse to locate the torrent file. Write in the title you want in the field- Torrent name. Then choose -category- if it's a music video you upload you'll choose that one of course. Then fill in -Tags.
Tags is used for the search engine- so if you want people to find your torrent, you'll write Iggy Pop for instance. Image field you don't need to fill in anything.
Description- is of course what you wanna tell about the torrent. Enter the code you'll se at the bottom- and then click -upload.
Now return to Bitlord. The torrent file should be opened there now, but it's set to pause, so you need to right click and select: start. If the torrent file's not there for some reason, then just do what you do when downloading- open the file.
Start the seeding task. Keep seeding untill you minimum see there's other people seeding as well. This depend on the file size, how fast your line is etc. of course.For a video- this could mean anything from 2 hours to 24 hours. You could of course seed it for forever, but if you have multiple files uploading- the upload speed gets drastic reduced. That's why I ask other people to help seeding.
I hope this was to some help to you. Since English is not my native language, I hope I managed to translate it to understandable English... If you
